Habitat Regeneration have recently undertaken Downland management on a site near Snodland, Kent.

We carried out in field scrub management across approximately 100 acres, removing bramble and self-seeded blackthorn with a front-mounted flail on a forestry specification tractor with a crawler gearbox.
Having opened up the site, we undertook boundary management with a tractor mounted hedge cutter and mulcher on an excavator, before removing and replacing livestock fencing. The aim of the project is to integrate livestock back into the land management system, helping to promote the historic traditional chalk grassland and wildflower meadows. This is a beautiful site overlooking the Medway valley and we look forward to watching the land develop and thrive in the coming years.
