Habitat Regeneration and its sister company, FGS Agri Ltd, are pleased to announce a successful contract award from Forestry England, marking a significant stride in environmental conservation. The last-minute nature of the contract led to the responsible management of nine sites, focusing on preserving wildlife while ensuring safe access for the public.
Project Overview
The scope of the project included diverse activities aimed at maintaining the delicate balance between public accessibility and wildlife conservation. These included the careful cut and collect of wildflower meadows, preparation of grass meadows for wildflower drilling, path flailing, strimming, and hedge cutting around key areas such as car parks, signs, benches, and information boards.
Public Considerations
Despite the intensive nature of the works, a commitment to public convenience was paramount. All nine sites remained open to the public during the works. To minimise disruptions, the team strategically scheduled early hours of work in busier areas. This thoughtful approach ensured that visitors could continue to enjoy the natural beauty of these sites while the necessary conservation measures were undertaken.
Safety Measures
Acknowledging the importance of safety, Habitat Regeneration and FGS Agri Ltd implemented stringent safety measures throughout the project. The use of banksmen and clear signage played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of both workers and the public.
In Summary…
The success of this project not only highlights the expertise of Habitat Regeneration and FGS Agri Ltd in environmental conservation but also sets a notable standard for future initiatives.
